Tested it out last night. Mighty tasty. It smelled delectable, but it was a little heavy on liquor.

I will say that the coffee flavored (Kahlua) liqueur turned out much better. I couldn't tell the difference between it and the brand name stuff. It was just a very small fraction of the price too!

I know it looks bad. But, the Everclear seems a step up from premium vodkas. We had some moonshine last year, and it was very pure. I sure wish that it was legal.

I am not sure what happened to me, but somewhere around age 24, I started to get hangovers. It was just out of the blue, I had never had them before. Its not too nice on the pocket book to have to order premium drinks anytime I go out, but the last time I drank Smirnoff, I had a horrible hangover after just two small drinks. When I drink the cheap stuff, I can get a hangover w/o even getting a buzz :/.

jenn

Haha! I'm to blame for the Everclear. Jenn complains of hangovers when drinking cheap vodka due to the impurities. So one day, instead of a $35 fifth of Grey Goose, I grabbed a $13 bottle of Everclear and suggested she use half as much in drinks. When the booze has been distilled to 190 proof, and then watered a bit to make it Florida legal, it's hard to have much in the way of impurities left.

As for storage, I think we could fit a dozen bottles on the counter behind the sink, but I'm afraid there's only about 3 there at the moment. I'm still hoping Jenn can dig up a good Everclear to Scotch recipe, but I'm not optimistic!

johnny

Wow, we wanna party with you two! Everclear?!!!!!

Cool idea to use the bananas. I've found that we carry them less and less because they rot so fast when it's warm, and instead rely on banana chips.

But where on earth do you store the booze? We are so limited on space for that kind of stuff that we limit ourselves to one bottle and a mixer at a time. It's a far cry from our fully stocked bar that we used to have when we had a stick house, but worth the sacrifice!
