Snow Good

April 10th, 2011

I have to admit it. I normally detest snow but for some reason I was secretly excited about the prospect of snow up here on the mountain. It turned out to be everything I was hoping. When we woke up on Saturday everything was covered in at least 4″s of snow. It was so beautiful! The following pictures here taken a few hours later, after the snow started melting off.

Our rig was snowed in, as was our camp mate Alx‘s rig.

Rain loves hiking in the snow - Prescott, AZ

Nothing stops Rain’s morning walk…. err hike! She’s not happy unless it takes at least two hours.

Snow covered agave - Prescott, AZ
Snow cave? - Prescott, AZ
A mine we located while hiking. Prescott, AZ

When we reached the top of the mountain, we found snow covered agave. Then Johnny took me down the other side and showed me a mine (see it in the pic above?) he had found the day before. After the mine we decided to try to find our way by following a stream instead of going back the way we came. Kinda silly of us since we had no idea what stream it was. I hope we didn’t get lost.

Um what are we waiting for? - Prescott, AZ

The snow looks so pretty in the pictures, espeically the agave. It did NOT look so pretty in dirtville when I woke up on Saturday

Tee hee. I guess you got the same storm. The snow here really was that pretty and enchanting…. while it lasted.
